Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use this website, buy one of our books, or license Juxtapose. They are in three parts: the books, the Juxtapose software licence, and terms that apply to everything. Our books are Algorithms Simplified or Computing Simplified. By placing an order, you agree to them.
Who we are
This website and our books are published by Rohith B V, trading as Facile Publishing (“we”, “us”, “our”). You can contact us at rohith@rohith.co.uk.
Part one · The books
The products
We publish two books: Algorithms Simplified: A Minimalist Approach to Problem-Solving and Computing Simplified: A Minimalist Approach to How It All Works (each, a “book”). Each is available as a downloadable PDF and as a printed hardcover edition in full colour, and may be sold on its own, as a bundle with an interactive companion, or together as a collection, as described at the point of sale. Every hardcover also includes the PDF edition at no extra cost. They are educational works intended for personal learning.
Orders and payment
Purchases are processed through a third-party checkout and payment provider. When you buy, you may also be subject to that provider’s terms. Prices are shown in pounds sterling (£) unless stated otherwise and may include applicable taxes. We may update prices at any time, but changes do not affect orders already placed.
Delivery
Digital editions. You receive access to download your book immediately or shortly after your payment is confirmed, via a download link or your account with the checkout provider. Please keep your copy and download link safe.
Printed editions. Hardcovers are printed to order by our print and fulfilment partner, Bookvault, at whichever of their UK, US or Canadian facilities is closest to the delivery address, and are usually dispatched in 3 to 8 working days. We ship worldwide. Postage is not included in the price shown: it is added at checkout, where you choose the delivery service you prefer. Delivery times depend on the service you pick and on your destination, and estimates given at checkout are estimates rather than guarantees. Licence and permitted use (books)
When you buy a book, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download and read it for your own personal, non-commercial use. In line with each book’s copyright notice, no part of a book may be reproduced, distributed, resold, shared, uploaded, or transmitted in any form without our prior written permission. You may not remove any copyright or attribution notices.
Refunds and cancellation (books)
Your statutory rights. Under UK consumer law a book you buy must be as described, fit for purpose, and of satisfactory quality. If it is faulty or not as described, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or a refund. Nothing in these terms limits those statutory rights.
Money-back guarantee. Beyond your statutory rights, we offer a voluntary money-back guarantee. If you’re not happy with your purchase, email us at rohith@rohith.co.uk and we’ll refund you in full.
Digital books: 14 days. The window runs from the date of purchase. This applies even though a book is digital content delivered by immediate download.
Printed books: 30 days. The window also runs from the date of purchase rather than from the day your parcel arrives, because delivery dates are not tracked back to us. Thirty days is longer than the fourteen the law requires from delivery, and is meant to leave room for the book to reach you and still give you a fortnight to decide.
How refunds are handled. Book orders are processed by our checkout provider, Shopify, and we are the seller of record for every order, domestic and international alike. Refunds come from us, under the windows above.
Part two · Juxtapose software licence
What Juxtapose is
Juxtapose is a desktop application for comparing and ranking alternatives, available for macOS through the Mac App Store and for Windows through the Microsoft Store. It runs on your own computer. It is licensed, not sold.
Which agreement governs your copy
When you buy Juxtapose through a store, the purchase itself is made from that store under its terms: the store takes the payment, accounts for any tax, and handles refunds. The licence, what you may do with the software, is between you and us, and the agreement that governs your copy is the one presented in the application. Every published version of the licence agreement is kept at /juxtapose/agreements. This part of these terms is a summary; where the summary and your copy's agreement differ, the agreement governs.
The licence we grant
When you buy Juxtapose we grant you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it, subject to these terms. A licence covers one person. Two people using Juxtapose need two licences, whether or not they use it at the same time. Which computers a purchase covers follows the rules of the store account that bought it.
One licence
Juxtapose is sold as a single full licence. It covers every use, personal and commercial alike, with no revenue threshold and no qualification test. Anyone who bought a licence under an earlier version of these terms keeps it, on the terms it was bought under.
The trial
Juxtapose may be downloaded and used free of charge for seven days from first launch. The trial is the complete application and is limited by time rather than by capability. Using it beyond that period requires a licence.
Refunds (Juxtapose)
The seven-day trial is the whole application, so you can find out whether Juxtapose suits you before paying anything. Purchases made through a store are refunded by that store under its policy: for the Mac App Store at reportaproblem.apple.com, and for the Microsoft Store from your Microsoft account's order history. Copies bought directly from us before store distribution keep their original promise: email rohith@rohith.co.uk within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. Nothing here limits any statutory right you have as a consumer.
What you may not do
- Share, resell, sublicense or transfer your purchase beyond what your store account's own rules allow, or use it on behalf of anyone who does not hold their own licence. For directly sold copies, the same applies to the licence key.
- Redistribute, rent, lease or host Juxtapose as a service for others.
- Remove or alter any copyright, licence or attribution notice.
- Attempt to circumvent the licensing or trial mechanism.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software, except to the extent that this restriction cannot lawfully be excluded.
Updates
A licence includes all future updates and major versions at no further cost. We may change what Juxtapose does in an update, and we will not remove a capability the licence was sold on without saying so.
Your files stay yours
Juxtapose reads the files you point it at and stores its workspace on your own computer. We do not receive your files, your candidates or your decisions. Where several people evaluate one decision, material moves between their machines and not through us. The store editions contact no server of ours at all; a copy bought directly from us checks its licence key with our server. See our Privacy Policy.
Warranty
Juxtapose is provided as it is. To the fullest extent permitted by law we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error free, or that it is fit for a particular purpose. It supports a decision; it does not make one, and the judgement remains yours. Nothing here affects the statutory rights of a consumer.
If the licence ends
This licence ends if you materially breach it and do not put the breach right within 30 days of us asking. On ending, you stop using Juxtapose and remove it from your computers. Sections that by their nature should survive will do so.

Intellectual property
The books, their text, diagrams, and design, and the content of this website are protected by copyright and are © Rohith B V. All rights reserved. Juxtapose, its source code, its design and its documentation are © Rohith B V. “Algorithms Simplified”, “Computing Simplified”, “Juxtapose” and “Facile Publishing” are used as identifiers of these works, this software and their publisher.
No guarantee of results
The books are provided for general educational and informational purposes. While every care has been taken in preparing them, we make no warranties about the accuracy or completeness of their content, and we do not guarantee any particular outcome (including, for example, success in exams or interviews) from using them.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, the books or this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
Third-party links
This website and the books may contain links to third-party sites or services. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those third parties.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one in force when you place it. We will revise the “last updated” date above when we make changes.
